The Story Behind the Story

I first shared Jackie and Shadow’s nest camera with my parents when my mother was bedridden. After we lost her, Dad and I continued watching together through our move to California. We followed the eagles through uncertain seasons, celebrated their chicks, and eventually traveled to Big Bear Lake, where we saw Jackie and Shadow for ourselves.
Jackie’s Song grew from those moments: a tribute to Jackie, to the people who loved watching her, and to the quiet ways nature can help us feel connected again. |
